  • 12.05.2011

The Foreign Ministry in Warsaw has denied yesterday’s report in the EU Observer that Ukrainians, Russians and Belarusians who want to take part in the Warsaw gay pride march this June will be allowed to enter Poland without paying the obligatory visa fee.

“Poland’s Foreign Ministry has not promised to exempt visas or visa fees for those attending the parade for sexual miniroties,” says a statement by the ministry after being asked for a comment by the TVN24 news station.

The Foreign Ministry statement contradicts the earlier report which claimed that the ministry had informed organisers of the Gay Pride march on 11 June that Poland’s eastern niegbhours would be exampt from having to obtain visas if they wished to attend.

Currently, Ukrainians Russians and Belarusians have to pay from 35 to 60 euros for a visa to enter Poland. (pg)
