• Poles capture Taliban leader

Polish Forces in the Ghazni province in Afghanistan have captured a major Taliban leader suspected of terrorist activity.


The leader, named as Abdul Haq, was operative in the in the Gelan district. According to Polish Forces, he was a member of the Jahadi terrorist organisation.

The Taliban leader is suspected of firing rockets at the Polish base in Ghazni, as well as attacks using improvised explosive devices (IEDs). He was taken into custody on Saturday, Polish Forces report, after being stopped at a control point on the Kabul-Kandahar road.

Over two weeks ago Polish Forces arrested another Taliban leader in the Qarabagh district, being accused of ambushing logistics convoys. (jb)
