• Two out of three Poles believe in miracles
  • 29.03.2011

Sixty four percent of Poles believe in miracles, finds an opinion poll carried out by TNS OBOP.

Seventy percent believe that praying for one’s own health is effective, while 61 percent believe in praying for someone else’s health.

Twice as many women as men declared belief in miracles.

Only one percent of agnostics admitted to believing in the power of miracles, although generally (and surprisingly) the researchers found there was a very small connection between declaring belief in miracles and religious faith.

However, among respondents aged 60+ there were more believers than in other age groups.

The probe was carried out between March 3-6 on a representative group of 1 thousand Poles aged over 15.  (ek)
