General Wojciech Jaruzelski has left hospital after a week of chemotherapy.
The 87-year-old general, one of the authors of Martial Law in Poland in 1981, was admitted to hospital in March with a serious chest infection.
Jaruzelski was diagnosed with lymphoma and last week returned to hospital for treatment.
Doctors at the Military Medical Institute in Warsaw said that the treatment had gone well and General Jaruzelski was now scheduled for a series of regular consultations at the Hematology clinic in Poland’s capital. (ek/jb)
