PM Tusk will be spending Easter with family in his constituency home; Law and Justice leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski will be in Warsaw with his sick mother, and leader of the left wing SLD Grzegorz Napieralski will be going abroad for a break.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk (pictured right) will be spending the Easter break in the resort town of Sopot, where he has a family home, government spokesman Pawel Gras told the Super Express daily.

But due to the solemn nature of the Easter holidays - where religious observance should take prescience over fun and enjoyment (in theory) - the occasion will not be a boisterous occasion for the Tusk family, says the government spokesman.

The holiday will be a double celebration for the PM, as 22 April is also Donald Tusk’s birthday. He is 54 years old today.

The 62 year-old leader of the Law and Justice party, Jaroslaw Kaczynski (PiS) will be spending his holiday in Warsaw where will be looking after his severely sick mother Jadwiga.

The holiday will bring back painful memories for the Kaczynski household, however, as it will be the second Easter without Jaroslaw’s twin brother Lech Kaczynski, who was killed, alongside his wife Maria, in the Smolensk air crash on 10 April last year.

Leader of the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD), Grzegorz Napieralski will be leaving the country for a short break abroad.

“After a hard year I decided to celebrate with family abroad and relax before the election [in the autumn], says Napieralski, who leads the third largest party in parliament. (pg)
