A 25-year-old Polish student plunged to her death yesterday afternoon in the Chinese city of Xiamen.

Initial reports suggest that the architectural student fell thirty floors from a building in the vicinity of the university campus.

Information regarding the incident appeared in a local newspaper this morning, and the death has now been confirmed by the Polish consul in Shanghai, Tomasz Rogalski.

The student fell into a garden belonging to a restaurant and died on the spot.

At present, no suggestion of foul play has been made. However, the Polish consulate is being kept informed on developments regarding the investigation. (nh)
