Most of today's dailies devote their front page coverage to the aftermath of the death of Osama bin Laden.

“The world freed from bin Laden” is the headline from Rzeczpospolita, which writes that Washington hopes the death of the Al Qaida leader will become a turning point in the war against terrrorism.

In an editorial under the headline “The symbol of the triumph of the western civilization” its foreign editor Jerzy Haszczynski points out that the western world has not been so enthusiastic and united in its joy for a long time

“This is how they got bin Laden” heralds the tabloid Fakt presenting a pictorial and minute-by-minute description of the events of May 1, 2011.

The paper also interviews General Roman Polko, the former head of the Special Forces Unit GROM who warns against thinking that the possibility of a retaliatory attack concerns only the United States because it was the Americans who killed bin Laden and not Poland because the threat exists far away from this country.

“We are not  a primary target for terrorists but it does not mean that an attack cannot happen here” says general Polko in Fakt.

The Warsaw city daily Życie Warszawy has calculated how much more expensive life of an average Varsovian will become in the coming months. According to the plans of local officials, the costs of water and sewage are to increase in July, public transportation tickets in August and fees for nurseries in September.
