Experts claim that the Polish population will decline over the next decade.

Economists alarmingly point to the fact that by the year 2020, the number of Poles will fall by one million and throughout the next decade by a further 1.5 million.

By 2030, Poland's urban population is estimated to decrease by 3 million people, while in rural areas, there is to be an overall increase of even half a million people.

The current birthrate in Poland remains low at 1.24 children per woman.

However, for the third year in a row, Poland witnesses an increase in the absolute number of live births.
