• Bullying common in Polish schools
  • 06.02.2007
One-third of Poland’s teenagers were bullied at school last year, shows the latest data based on the research by the ministry of education.

According to its results, over 15% of young people skip school in fear of aggression from fellow pupils.

The source of the greatest threat to young people is not their school but it comes from the streets, pubs and discotheques, claim the researchers. Also, some 40% of the respondents have been approached by drug dealers or forced to drink alcohol.

Meanwhile a special program called “Safe School” has already been prepared to counteract these and similar phenomena.

It includes workshops for kids and parents which are conducted at schools to make both sides aware of the threats and ways of avoiding them.
