- Minister of Interior Affairs resigns
- 07.02.2007
Hours before Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski was due to announce changes in his cabinet, Ludwik Dorn submitted his resignation as Interior Minister.
He retained, however, his position as deputy Prime Minister of Poland.
Dorn said in a press conference that he resigned over differences of view with the prime minister on an important issue but he failed to elaborate.
'This is my government and my Prime Minister, the best since 1989', Ludwik Dorn added, thanking his ministerial colleagues.
Dorn said he did not know who was to succeed him, but he assured that he was willing to assist the new minister in any way it will be possible.
Dorn had been nominated to the post of Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration on October 31, 2005 by the then Prime Minister, Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz.
On November 21, 2005 he became deputy Prime Minister of Poland.
