The Ministry of Education has notified the Prosecutor's office about the possibility that a crime has been committed by the Union of Socialist Polish Youth – an organization affiliated with the post-communist Democratic Left Alliance.

The organization is suspected of forging documents, and embezzlement in connection with government subsidies that they received under the post-communist Democratic Left Alliance government.

"This group, affiliated with the then ruling Democratic Left Alliance, met with stunning generosity from that government", the current deputy Education Minister has said, adding that the socialist youth received as many as 3 million zloty (approx. 1 million US dollars) over the 4 year period of the leftist government.

Whereas the current Education Ministry, ruled by the coalition party, the Catholic national League of Polish Families, has not given any money to the youth organization affiliated with this party, said the deputy Education Minister.
