• Polish ambassadors called for urgent talks in Warsaw
  • 20.02.2007
Several Polish ambassadors have been urgently called for consultations in Warsaw after a report identified them as collaborators with the dissolved intelligence services that allegedly worked for Russia.

Among the four already named by the media are ambassadors to Kuwait, Austria, China and Turkey.

They were all mentioned in the 374-pages government report that accused hundreds of Poles in positions of authority of working for Poland's Military Intelligence Services (WSI) disbanded last year by the conservative government.

Pawel Zalewski, the head of parliament's foreign policy confirmed that they were called to Warsaw for talks although no official comment from Poland’s Foreign Ministry has been released yet.

All the diplomats involved face the risk of losing their posts.
