• US anti-missile system conditional on improved security
  • 27.02.2007
The Polish Prima Minister said today that a US anti-missile system on Polish soil would mean the country’s security needs to improve.

Polish PM Jaroslaw Kaczynski has met with US Ambassador Victor Ash in Warsaw today. He said afterwards that Poland is willing to host the US anti-ballistic missile system if improvements to security are made.

‘There are certain threats against Poland that will probably be executed and Poland has to have an answer to that,’ Kaczynski told Polish Radio.

The prime minister refused to elaborate on what these extra security measures would be, however.

It is expected that Poland will join the Czech Republic in hosting the system, which will be divided between housing missiles and a radar detection system. (pg)
