Civic Platform’s (PO) controversial policy conference in Pławniowice near Gliwice, planned for April 20, will not be going ahead, informs Krzysztof Krzemiński, the assistant of the Śląskie Voivodship Marshall Janusz Moszyński. The conference was to take place a few days before a similar meeting in Warsaw. “So there is no sense in repeating the same topics in two different places with the same guest lists” Krzemiński explained.
The plan to organise the debate in Gliwice caused some heated disputes within Civic Platform.
Party membership of both Marshall Moszyński and President Frankiewicz has been suspended.
The party’s authorities accused them of trying to form a ‘breakaway’ faction within PO activities.
Jan Rokita i Andrzej Olechowski were to speak during the conference, and, at first, not all members of the party were invited.
