  • 17.07.2007
Roman Giertych, head of the League of Polish Families, emphasized this morning the goals of his party and Andrzej Lepper’s Self defense are similar and he has not ruled out the creation of a new party (LiS), including a part of the ruling Law and Justice party.

He said on Polish Radio 1 this morning that he will be announcing that a decision concerning this issue will by made about 2pm Tuesday.

Roman Giertych add4ed that he thinks that there are many possible scenarios in the case of the government coalition. Mr. Giertych admitted on Sygnały Dnia on Polish Radio 1 that the coalition is in turmoil brought about by Jarosław Kaczyński.

The Leader of LPR pointed out that the conflict is between PiS and Samoobrona and has been going on since the Renata Beger’s tapes scandal.

In regard to the Central Anticorruption Bureau’s (CBA) operation at the ministry of agriculture, which led to the dismissal of Andrzej Lepper as vice premier and agricultural minister he said that presently there is no proof that anyone took a bribe for or changing the status of a plot of land at Mazury from agricultural to residential and added that because of that accusing Lepper is wrong.

Roman Giertych declared that today at a press conference he will announce further actions of LPR concerning the conflict in the coalition. (mo)
