After former Agriculture Minister Andrzej Lepper announced to be in possession of recordings compromising Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński and other ruling Law and Justice politicians, daily “Życie Warszawy” wonders if it is possible to record the head of the Polish government in his own office. As the newspaper reports that in the closest environment of the PM there is a lot of equipment protecting him from being overheard or secretly recorded by unauthorized people.
The Government Protection Bureau (BOR) is able to protect the discretion of talks of the most important persons in the country not only in their offices but also outdoors. The thing is that the anti-wire-tapping equipment is not on all the time.
“They are switched on when it is necessary or when the PM demands it,” explains Dariusz Aleksandrowicz from BOR.
Self-defence leader Andrzej Lepper started the topic of the compromising tapes last Sunday. He claimed to possess “shocking” information concerning PM Jarosław Kaczyński and said that he will reveal them “on proper time and place”.
But until this time comes the question if the “Lepper’s tapes” really exist remains open…
