• Polish Parliament agrees on arrest of sex-scandal MP

On Thursday Polish Parliament voted to strip the immunity of Self-Defence MP Stanisław Lyzwinski, enabling his arrest.

327 MPs were in favour of Lyzwinski s arrest, 68 were against and 9 abstained from voting. In favour of depriving him of immunity voted 392, against 10, 2 MPs abstained.

The deputy did not appear in Parliament today as he was on sick leave.

A motion for arresting the MP was put forward by public prosecutor’s office in Łodz investigating the case of a scandal within the Self defense party involving offering females promotion in return for sexual favours.

Lyzwinski will be charged with seven crimes in total, including rape and sexual exploitation of a woman employee as well as inciting the kidnap a businessman.

Lyzwinski denies the charges.
