According to the latest pre-election opinion poll commissioned by Polish TV 1 and conducted by SMG KRC, 61 per cent of Poles declare they intend to vote in the upcoming election in Poland on October 21.

The poll indicates that only 23 per cent of voters say they will certainly not be taking part.

The opinion poll shows that the Civic Platform (PO) would get 33.9 per cent votes, Law and Justice (PiS) - 27.1 per cent, Left and Democrats (LiD) - 13 per cent.

Other political parties would not get past the electoral threshold (5 per cent) and could not count on any seats in the Sejm.

According to the poll, the League of Polish Families (LPR) would get just 4.3 per cent support, the Polish Peasants’ Party (PSL) - 3.2 per cent, the National Pensioners’ Party - 3 per cent, and Self Defence a 1.6 per cent following, the same as the Women’s Party.

The poll also indicates that equal numbers of Poles want to see a coalition between PO-PiS and PO-LiD after the election (17 per cent each).

7 per cent want a coalition between PO and PSL, and 6 per cent between PiS and PSL.

The opinion poll commissioned by TVP was conducted by SMG/KRC on 9th September.
