• Poland’s government jumps nine points in poll

Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczyski’s party, Law and Justice, has seen a significant shift in public support in the last week, if an opinion poll by SMG is to believed.

Respondents gave Law and Justice 36 percent support on the poll taken on September 16, up from 27 percent seven days before.

The largest opposition party in Poland, Civic Platform, recorded 31 percent, up two percent.

The post-communist left wing alliance Left and Democrats were the only other party to record more than 5 percent support - necessary to get into parliament – on 15 percent.
