Civic Platform (PO) intends to conclude coalition negotiations with the Peasants’ Party (PSL) by 1 November, Grzegorz Schetyna PO’s secretary general has told Polish Radio Wrocław.

The politician refused any comments on the future coalition government, but revealed that the main focus of the negotiations between PO and PSL are the issues of Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) and taxes. PO wants low pro-family taxation at a flat rate and KRUS contributions depending on the farm size.

TVN24 television has found out from an unofficial source that PO and PSL leaders agreed in a “secret” meeting in Donald Tusk’s office in Gdańsk on Saturday that PSL chairman Waldemar Pawlak would become vice premier and minister of economy.
