Law and Justice (PiS) is planning to boycott the Polish Upper House to take revenge on the remaining senators from Civic Platform.

Civic Platform – who have a majority in the Senate after last month’s elections - have refused to accept Zbigniew Romaszewski (PiS) for the position of Deputy Speaker of the Senate  - twice. 

The boycott, says RFM FM radio, will last until Romaszewski gets enough votes from PO to become deputy speaker.  If not, PiS have threatened to extend their protest to the Lower House.

So far, the two and so far only deputy speakers appointed in the Senate are from the Civic Platform - Krystyna Bochenek and Marek Ziółkowski. (photo: Jakub Szymczuk)
