Poland’s President is to appoint Donald Tusk, the leader of the general elections winners, Civic Platform (PO), as the new Prime Minister today, at 3 p.m. today.

Tusk will be able to move to the government’s head office in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, in Aleje Ujazdowskie in Warsaw right away.

There the new PM will be able to take his final decisions as to the Cabinet members. This, however, is not likely to happen before the weekend.

Tusk already announced that after the coalition talks with the Polish Peasants Party, most likely next week, he will present the Cabinet. He did not exclude to wait to announce the members of the new government until Wednesday, when the Sejm’s session is to be resumed.
