Law and Justice (PiS) leader Jarosław Kaczyński has decided to suspend from party membership three former vice-chairmen Ludwik Dorn, Paweł Zalewski and Kazimierz Ujazdowski, informed PiS discipline spokesman Karol Karski.
Karski said that on motion by PiS leader disciplinary proceedings were commenced before the arbitration disciplinary committee against the three former vice-chairmen.
According to PiS statute, suspension from party membership lies within the chairman’s competence. Jarosław Kaczyński has made the decision after seeking consultation with the Law and Justice Political Committee.
“This decision is unfair and groundless,” commented Kazimierz Ujazdowski. “Suppressing internal discussion creates bad habit and truly weakens Law and Justice,” he added.
Last week Dorn, Ujazdowski and Zalewski resigned from Law and Justice management. The rebels stayed in the party but gave its leader a letter containing postulates of reforms and changes in the manner the party is led.
