The newly sworn-in government’s commissioner for fighting corruption, Julia Pitera (Civic Platform), will not create a separate institution to prevent corruption in Poland.
Any irregularity will be investigated by a different team of state officials and experts, explained Pitera on Monday.
“I have always been stingy with public money. There is no sense in multiplying public posts,” she said. “I want each case of irregularity or corruption to be investigated by a separate team of governmental administration officials and experts,” she explained.
This week Julia Pitera is to present to the new PM Donald Tusk the issue, with which she would like to deal first. This is a case of governmental administration activities and public money.
“I know how to improve certain things so that the administration works better,” Pitera said.
The Civic Platform MP will be government commissioner in the rank of a minister responsible for preventing corruption. So far the new service has no name or office.
