Beata Sawicka, former Civic Platform MP has paid in 300,000 zlotys for bail to the court in Poznań to avoid arrest.
Sawicka was stopped by Anticorruption Agency CBA on 5 November for accepting a bribe of 50 thousand zlotys for “setting up” a tender for a plot of land in the seaside resort of Hel in north Poland, but was released soon after.
Prosecution accused Sawicka of corruption and paid protection using her alleged connections with state authorities.
“It was very difficult to collect the full amount, as it is a big sum of money”, Grzegorz Janisławski, Sawicka’s legal advisor told TVN24.
A week ago, the District Court in Poznań gave former PO MP a conditional arrest sentence.
