• Former foreign minister criticises new head of diplomacy

Anna Fotyga told Polish Radio this morning that the new government continues to show disrespect to President Kaczynski.

 

Former minister of foreign affairs and new head of the Presidential Chancellery Anna Fotyga has told Polish Radio One that the disagreement between the President and the foreign minister on Thursday was a result of Sikorski’s attitude.

 

On Thursday Sikorski failed to attend a meeting with the President. At that time the minister was at a government’s session concerning the state’s budged.

 

Anna Fotyga regarded foreign minister Sikorski’s behaviour as inappropriate. Former foreign minister said that both the head of the diplomacy and the PM behave in a provocative way towards President Kaczyński and his office.

 

Fotyga accused also the new Cabinet of a too soft attitude in foreign policy, especially towards Russia. On Tuesday Prime Minister Donald Tusk informed that Poland has resigned from blocking negotiations on Russian accession to the OECD. According to her, such situation will cause further grow of Moscow’s demands in the international arena. (jm)
