Bronisław Komorowski (Civic Platform - PO), the speaker of the parliament has told Radio Zet that Radio Maryja should be treated just like any other media in Poland and should respect certain generally accepted rules.

Polish Internet portal onet.pl writes that PO has declared war on Radio Maryja after Father Rydzyk’s (director of Radio Maryja) criticism towards Donald Tusk and his ministers on his radio station Thursday night.

Radio Maryja director voiced his outrage at the rumours that PO government was going to withhold 15 million zlotys in EU funds earlier granted to his Higher School of Media and Social Culture in Toruń for searching for geothermal energy sources.  He was also angry at the announcements made by the minister of higher education and science Barbara Kudrycka that the priest’s school should be inspected

“There is a division between the Church and the state, so public servants should be kind but rigid in their execution of the law […] while Father Rydzyk has got used to the idea that politicians are on their knees when talking to him", Komorowskai has replied to the priest’s words of condemnation.
