• ‘God wants rid of Father Rydzyk’

It is in God’s interest to get rid of head of controversial Radio Maryja Father Tadeusz Rydzyk, according to Civic Platform (PO) MP Janusz Palikot’s blog.

The MP suggests to the Polish Catholic Church a strategy on how to eliminate Father Rydzyk.

"Rydzyk alone is too weak and power is slipping out of his hands", believes MP Palokot, quoted in the Dziennik daily.

"As a mater of fact, it is in the Church’s interest to have PO do away with Rydzyk.  So, PO should widely manifest its support for the Church and at the same time, be tough on Father Director", suggests Palikot.

In his opinion, the said strategy should suffice to resolve the problem with Father Rydzyk.  Palikot says that even God himself wants to see Father Rydzyk’s decline.

"It is really in God’s interest, because nothing repels young people from the Church more that Radio Maryja", the Civic Platform PM explains.

Father Rydzyk has been a controversial leader of ultra-conservative Radio Maryja, which has been criticized for anti-Semitism and getting involved in party politics. (mj)
