“Prosecution will not hesitate to question the former premier Jarosław Kaczyński and former justice minister Zbigniew Ziobro about the circumstances of the death of Barbara Blida (former economy and construction minister - SLD) in due time”, justice minister Zbigniew Ćwiąkalski told TVN24 news channel Tuesday.
“Kaczyński and Ziobro should be interrogated on the same day as Janusz Kaczmarek (former interior and administration minister in Kaczyński’s government)”, replied Leszek Piotrowski, legal advisor of the Blida family.
Minister Ćwiąkalski reminded that Jarosław Kaczyński had declared that he would turn up before the investigative committee looking into Blida’s suicide death and said he didn’t know when the first charges would be presented as he was not acquainted with the court records.
Ćwiąkalski refused to comment on the interrogation of Janusz Kaczmarek in the Blida case scheduled at the prosecutor’s office in Łódź for Tuesday.
“Any discussion is groundless now”, he said.
Blidas’ lawyer Piotrowski is concerned that if all of the eight witnesses to be questioned are not summoned before the prosecution on the same day, information leaks could occur.
“They will know what the former interior and administration minister will have told the prosecutors on Tuesday”, Piotrowski said.
Ćwiąkalski is convinced of irregularities on the part of the Central Anticorruption Agency’s agents when they came to Barbara Blida’s house to make an arrest.
“I was surprised, for example, why there was a camera at the place of arrest. I was also surprised at the agents’ conduct and how the person arrested could commit suicide”, justice minister explained and added that he would leave any clarifications up to the prosecution. (mj)
