• New coordinator of Polish secret services to be chosen next week
  • 15.01.2008

The name of the new coordinator for secret services is to be announced at a cabinet meeting next Tuesday, informed Tomasz Arabski, head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

Yesterday PM Donald Tusk accepted Pawel Gras’s resignation from carrying out the duties of secretary of state in the chancellery responsible for secret services.

Tomasz Arabski confirmed that Pawel Gras resigned because of personal reasons.

He also rejected accusations by the Law and Justice (PiS) opposition party that Polish secret services are in danger of being destabilized. He emphasized it is the PM who is personally in charge of secret services, monitoring them and assigning tasks. (mn)
