Former PM in the previous Law and Justice administration Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz has praised the current government’s new direction in foreign policy.
“In my opinion, foreign policy has changed in a very positive way”, Marcinkiewicz told TVN24 news channel.
“Previously, foreign policy was very chaotic. Foreign diplomats didn’t know which direction Poland was following.”
Asked about the current cohabitation conflict between government and president over the direction of foreign policy, Marcinkiewicz said that when he was in office: "As far as European policy was concerned, it was strictly the government’s policy”, Marcinkiewicz said.
Although praising the new government, the former PM avoided taking sides in the conflict between president and prime minister.
“I support Poland”, was all Marcinkiewicz would say. (mj)
