• Tusk runs ‘tabloid government’ says opposition MP
  • 18.02.2008

Joachim Brudziński, chairman of the Law and Justice (PiS) council, thinks that the high public support for the present government is a result of good marketing strategy, not the actual achievements of the coalition formed by Civic Platform (PO) and the Polish Peasants Party (PSL).

In an interview for the Polish Radio 1, Brudziński called the strategy of Donald Tusk’s government a “tabloid policy”, which focuses on media events instead of effective governing. According to him, since the new coalition took over, no attempts to solve the most important social problems have been made.

Commenting on the recent favorable statements by President Lech Kaczyński about PM Tusk’s foreign policy, Brudziński said that this was because the new government started to adopt the priorities of the Presidential Palace. (mo)
