Former justice minister, Zbigniew Ziobro claims that the present Ministry of Justice is politically influencing the Public Prosecutor’s Office in an unprecedented way.

According to Ziobro, never have so many changes in the staff of the Prosecutor’s office been made in such a short period of time and thinks the changes are political in nature.

Commenting on the first 100 days of the new justice minister, Zbigniew Cwiakalski, Ziobro said that the legislative activities of the ministry are characterized by helplessness, apathy and a lack of ideas. According to the former justice minister, the solutions proposed by Cwiakalski boil down only to “digging up dirt” on his predecessors.

Ziobro also criticized the idea of dividing the posts of Attorney General and Minister of Justice, which are held by one person in Poland. According to him, the new solution would not guarantee the political neutrality of the Prosecutor’s Office. (mo)
