• Tusk favourite for president says poll

Were the next presidential election to take place on Sunday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk would beat both the incumbent president, Lech Kaczynski, but also former minister of jusice Zbigniew Ziobro, says a poll conducted by GfK Polonia.

 

If the contest was between Kaczynski and Tusk, the prime minister could count on a 53-percent support, whereas 23 percent of respondents would choose Kaczynski.

 

If the choice was to be made between Tusk and Zbigniew Ziobro, the PM would get 56 percent of the votes, while his opponent 23 percent.

 

The next presidential election in Poland is to be held in October 2011. (mn)
