The opposition party of Law and Justice (PiS) is losing support, while the ruling Civic Platform (PO) remains as popular as it was, a poll by Gfk Polonia reveals.
At the end of January as many as 25 percent of the electorate declared their support for PiS. Currently the party has nine percentage points less at 16 percent.
At the same time almost half of Poles (46 percent) said that they would vote for the ruling PO. That is almost three times as many as for PiS.
The Left Democrats (LiD) alliance can count only on six percent of the electorate, and the junior coalition partner the Polish Peasants’ Party (PSL) on 5 percent.
The poll was conducted for Rzeczpospolita daily on February 22-24, on a group of 975 adult Poles. (jm)
