Prime Minister Donald Tusk has appointed MP Elzbieta Radziszewska (Civic Platform - PO) to the post of government plenipotentiary for equal treatment of women and men.
The newly appointed plenipotentiary said that one of her most important aims will be reaching Polish villages and small towns. She stressed that she also wants to oppose physical violence in families.
Radziszewska announced that she will closely cooperate with the ministers from the PO-PSL government coalition, especially with the heads of the labour, economy and health ministries. She also said that she is counting on the support of journalists and a discussion with the opposition.
The process of appointing Radziszewska to her new post will officially end after PM Tusk returns from the United States later this month. She is a doctor by education and is PO's expert on health, women and family. (mo)
