MP Aleksandra Natalli-Swiat of Law and Justice (PiS), Poland's biggest opposition party thinks that the government is plans to privatise state owned companies will benefit investors not the general public.
Members of the Law and Justice (PiS) party are critical of the government's state-owned companies privatization scheme, which provides for transforming 740 state-owned companies into private ones between the years 2008-2011.
Natalli-Swiat argued during a press conference that implementing privatization plans by hook or by crook and selling off shares hastily would prove detrimental to the state treasury.
The opposition MP added that the incumbent government is only making decisions which are beneficial to investors, not the general public. She illustrated this view with the example of Jacek Rostkowski, minister of finance, who allegedly continuously pressures the central bank to raise interest rates, or urges to sell shares during the present bear market.
