If presidential elections were to take place this month in Poland, Prime Minister Donald Tusk would be head of state, a poll by PBS DGA pollster reveals.
Donald Tusk is supported by 33 percent of the electorate and is followed by President Lech Kaczynski, with 15 percent support.
Third comes former foreign minister Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz, who recently announced his intention to return to politics, alongside former PM Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz who both received 11 percent.
Presidential elections in Poland are to take place in two years’ time.
The poll was conducted for Gazeta Wyborcza on July 1-3, on a representative sample of 1054 people. (jm)
