Poland’s president will unveil his revamped web site next year including a forum and a virtual tour of the Presidential Palace.

President Lech Kaczynski will join the ranks of other forward-thinking world leaders like U.S. President-elect Barack Obama by launching an interactive website in the new year that will allow people give direct feedback to the president on his work.

“I hope that the new portal will open in the first half of the new year, even as early as April,” stated Piotr Kownacki, head of the President’s Chancellery.

The interactive website, at www.prezydent.pl, will launch first a forum for users to leave comments as well as Internet polls that will allow the president to gather opinion data on his policies. Later in the year, there are plans to launch short films with messages from Kaczynski as well as official photographs.

“Today, not many people know that, from the website, you can virtually tour the inside of the president’s palace,” added Kownicki. “I hope that the new website will be attractive for the Internet generation and draw their interest.” (mmj)
