A new survey by pollster Millward Brown SMG/KRC shows that as much as 37 percent of Polish companies have been attacked by computer viruses.

The figures come as analysts quoted by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna comment that companies try and save money on anti-virus programmes by buying licences for the software rather than updating their security systems.

One in three companies with up to five computers and one in four companies with more computers were found in the poll as not investing in any security or anti-virus software at all.

Additionally, the survey found that 60 percent of employees take data out of company offices without the prior approval of employers, the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reports. (jb)
