• Advertising expenditure on the increase

A new report published by the Starlink media consultancy shows that expenditure on advertising went by up 2.7 percent year-on-year in Q1, 2011.

 

Advertising expenditure amounted to 1.63 billion zloty (420 million euro) in the first four months of this year, with the increase marking the greatest rise in spending since before the onset of the financial crisis.

 

The biggest rise in advertising was reported in the internet, with a rise of 20.9 percent.

 

Television advertising went up by only 1.8 percent by comparison. However, the three major TV broadcasters, TVP, TVN and Polsat all noted a drop in advertising revenue. Radio advertising went up by 4.1 percent year-on-year.

 

Meanwhile, printed publications, such as daily newspapers and magazines noted a drop in revenue on last year. (jb)
