• Plus mobile operator looking for the highest bidder

Six companies are reported to be in a hotly contested bid to buy out Polkomtel, the owner of the Plus mobile network, with offers reaching as much as 18 billion zloty (4.5 billion euro).

 

A week ago eleven hopefuls submitted non-binding contracts in the prelimary stage of bidding, although Polkomtel shareholders have since decided that six of the highest bidders have been invited to submit offers in the next stage of the sale.

 

It has been reported that two of the bidding parties include Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, who owns satellite TV operator Cyfrowy Polsat, as well as the Swedish TeliaSonera group.

 

The highest offer reaches as much as 18 billion zloty (4.5 billion euro), with offers not amounting to 16 billion zloty rejected by shareholders. (jb)
