Polish airports handled almost 15.5 million passengers in scheduled flights in 2010, with the vast majority of flights London-bound.

Almost 3 million passengers travelled to London from Polish airports in 2010, which translates to 16.77 percent of the total. However, that number is slowly decreasing, according to a new report by the Civil Aviation Office.

Out of the top ten most popular destinations, only London and Dublin had negative trends, while dynamic growth was noted on routes serving Dusseldorf, Oslo and Rome.

Over 3 million passengers travelled on international charter flights from Polish airports, with the most popular destination being Egypt, with over 32 percent of charter travel headed for airports there. (jb)
