On International Women’s Day, one in three managerial positions in Poland are taken by women, a new report shows.

The report, which was drafted by consultants Grant Thornton, shows that out of fourteen European countries, Poland has the highest rate of women employed in managerial positions.

The average in the countries researched amounted to one in five decision-making positions being taken by women.

In Poland, women managers are often found in the finance and human resource sectors, with 24 percent and 17 percent of managerial positions taken by women in the two sectors respectively.

However, top leadership positions are rarely taken by women, with only 4 percent of women acting as president of a company. In Germany, on the other hand, that figure is 13 percent. (jb)
