  • 22.03.2011

The number of Poles who have online bank accounts is growing fast, shows a netB@nk report by the Association of Polish Banks.

At the end of 2010, over 16 million Poles had access to internet banking and 10 million had online bank accounts, including 9.1 million individual clients and over 1 million companies.

The number of Poles who open online bank accounts has been systematically growing. Between the years 2006 and 2010, it increased by over 4.85 million users, i.e. 112 percent. In 2011, Poles opened over 1.8 million new online bank accounts

“Poles become more and more convinced that online banking makes sense. They also trust that it’s safe and appreciate the fact that it’s a fast, easy and cheap way to manage their money,” says Remigiusz Kaszubski from the Association of Polish Banks.

The report also shows that the value of online transactions has also gone up. (mg)
