  • 05.04.2011

In line with expectations, Poland’s Monetary Policy Council has raised base interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point.

The reference rate is now four percent, with many analysts expecting further rate hikes throughout the year, reaching even five percent by December.

The MPC said they would give reasons for the rate hike at a press conference at 16.00 CET. (pg)
