Toys 'R' Us, one of the world's largest toy retailers, is looking to crack the Polish market.

According to daily Puls Biznesu, the international chain has already started recruiting in Poland, and it hopes to open its first Polish store this year.

The company is reportedly looking for premises in shopping malls, and is keen to secure spaces of 1500 – 2500 square metres.

Toys 'R' Us is based in Wayne, New Jersey. Fronted by its mascot, Geoffrey the Giraffe, the company currently boasts over 800 stores in the U.S. and a further 700 spread across 34 countries around the globe.

Poland, with a population of 38 million and an estimated toy market of 2 billion zl, appears ripe for investment in the eyes of the toy giant.

Toys 'R' Us is due to reveal more details this summer. (nh)
