• Poland and Turkey look to boost trade

Poland and Turkey hope to achieve a trade relationship worth 6 billion USD this year, Turkish Minister for Foreign Trade  Zafer Caglayan said during talks with Economy Minister Waldemar Pawlak in Ankara.

 

Waldemar Pawlak, who is also Poland’s deputy prime minister, pointed out that the Polish EU rotating presidency, which Poland takes over in July this year, will be a good opportunity to improve cooperation with Turkey.

 

“During the presidency Poland will focus on cooperation between the north and south of Europe, which will embrace more support for the infrastructure in terms of road construction, energy, gas supplies, we plan to focus on  supporting investments in such areas,” he said.

 

In Ankara Minister Pawlak opened the Polish Turkish business forum . The economy minister  is accompanied by a large delegation of Polish business circles , for whom the visit is a chance for expanding cooperation. (ab)
