The Polish FA is trying to re-brand itself with a new modern logo and slogan before the Euro 2012 football championships, co hosted by Poland and Ukraine.

The new logo of the Polish Football Association (PZPN) has the shape of a football made of intertwined red, white and golden ribbons.

At the top of the ball the ribbons take the shape of an eagle’s head with a crown.

The logo is very dynamic and symbolizes excitement, competition, openness and transparency, claims PZPN president Grzegorz Lato.

“Euro 2012 is the best moment to refresh PZPN logo so that it were more attractive for media, football fans and sponsors,” he says.

PZPN is keen to be seen as new, dynamic and transparent as their many critics have blamed the association for wide spread corruption at all levels of Polish football in the last ten years.

The cost of the new logo and slogan, designed by SaltPepper Design has not been revealed.

The association also wants to create its own merchandising programme based on the sales of gadgets and souvenirs, with the new PZPN logo emblazoned across them. (mg/pg)
