• Poland hopeful for continuation of the Czech rotating EU presidency

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski expressed hope that the collapse of the Czech government will not influence the work of the Czech Republic as the holder of the rotating EU presidency.

Poland's head of diplomacy stressed that the political turmoil in that country is not a helpful factor that is why the Czech need Poland’s support. He also reiterated that during the last EU summit the Czech side was not only efficient but also favorable to Poland. “The country helped us achieve success with the project of the Eastern Partnership. It also supported the Polish proposals concerning the stimulus package and investments aimed at enhancing the energy security of the bloc”. 

Mirek Topolanek's minority coalition was toppled by a vote of no confidence in the Czech parliament on Tuesday.
